liked his bayern tenure but i dont think he’ll be better than xavi. unless laporta wanted to fuck with xavi intentionally by not buying him a proper dm and spending 30m on a 18 yo brazilian that xavi doesnt even want and doesnt buy the players that flick wants nothing will change. things might even go worse
If you guys can accept Barca won’t win anything this year…his appointment will do a lot to set them up for future success. Barcelona desperately needs his training regimen and culture of being a physically dominant team. I follow Barcelona workout and training/nutrition and it is atrocious for a professional sporting team and reminds of early 2000s when sport science wasn’t as developed. Assuming Barcelona adopts modern sports science and flicks replacement builds upon that then all the teenagers and kids on the team will be beasts
It feels like a fresh start in my opinion. Finally a coach that isnt ex-Barcelona or Spanish. Someone from outside of the club, with different views about football and discipline. (Whilst obviously still aiming to play attacking football)
Im really excited to see what will happen next year.
I will take this guy over Marquez anyday.
its lookin good innit
Ilusion and of course total support do death with the new manager. But without crazy expectations understanding that he like Xavi and Koeman probably won’t get to build almost anything of the squad.
Not winning the sextuple this season shouldn’t at all be a failure. This man seems to love Barca with how he fought to come here he deserves some patience.
Having a super season at Bayern does not mean he can repeat the same at Barca especially with all our limitations. But Xavi’s heritage should help him at least maintain Xavi’s level of around 85-90 points in league and UCL quarter finals.
If Flick manages to improve or even just maintaining those numbers then we should definitely keep him for as long as we can, give him the total confidence we never gave to Guardiola, Lucho and Xavi, although the Madrid media won’t allow us to keep a good manager for long.
We are doomed
I hope that Hansi goes HAM on the strength & conditioning, I’m sick of seeing Barça look more exhausted than opponents. Pedri, this is a make or break season for you bruh, get in shape & avoid injuries
Give him a LW and a Dm
He is going to be our couch so we have to support him and give him time. Whether he is a good fit, only time will tell.
I’ll be curious on how he goes about with the youngsters at club and how he’s with la masia youth coming up. Love if he transforms the mentality of the team.
Gündogan said that Flick is too soft. I believe him and expect that certain ballerinas in our squad will behave even more outrageously and we will lose more games
Really excited
Really excited, he transformed that bayern side. They were invincible for a while. Which we too were sometime ago…
I think that contrary to popular belief our problem isn’t physical. It looks that way because we run too much when we should be running smarter.
I am sceptical. Yes, he did well at Bayern… Years ago… Different financial situation, different team… Different playing philosophy… That’s why the “but he won 7 cups and only lost 7” attitude is not convincing to me.
I hope I am wrong, but at the moment I don’t think he will be the final breakthrough. It will be his job to convince me, not his past performances. If we can believe that he will treat Vitort differently, that is a good sign in my eyes. But until I see how the team plays under him, I can’t make a more specific criticism than that. Neither positive nor negative. I sincerely hope that in the future – when I can – I will have to formulate the positive.
Great coach, I am hopeful. Also it is great that it is not from Barcelona
Big if, but IF he can manage the personalities he can improve this team. His brand of ball is direct and pressing and a constant attack. It’s going to be interesting how he’s going to utilize cubarsi and yamal tho.
I feel it’ll either turn out amazing or abysmal. No in-between. He was a great assistant coach for Germany, then he had one of the most successful stints any manager has ever had at Bayern. But it was too short to tell if it maybe was just a “happy accident”. Then he was the worst national team coach in German history and looked absolutely clueless and out of touch in the documentary. Barca will be his make or break job and it could go either way.
I’m very excited for fast paced counter attacking football 🙂
look, even if you bring klopp, which imo the best manager in the world to raise a big club from the ashes, he won’t succeed;
we need a strong DM, we need a good left back, we need a good winger, we need a strong GK and a decent wing, hansi relies so much on physical strength and pace, the main reason he left bayren is they didn’t wanna sign new players, barcelona physical is almost dead, our best players are technical not physical , pedri is a perfect example,
hanse is an amazing coach, but barcelona toxic environment won’t help him, and the financial situation will only make it worse, bro we can’t even sign one big player this summer.
First thing he should do is tear Roberto’s contract renewal up
Lewandowski shined under Flick so as a pole i have high hopes our guy can have his “last dance” in a proper way. Other than that, seems like he waited for this job and hopefully he has something prepared.
If he is able to survive 2025 then we’re cooking. But I don’t know if Laporta will be president by 2026 tbh.
I like it but they didn’t have to do that to Xavi. We could have sent him off well like how Liverpool did to Klopp.
Not much, but not sure why a set of us were so against.
We needed not just a tactical change, but a culture shift and I think Hansi Flick will bring that. I’m excited for next season now. He also looks calm and composed and looks like an overall no nonsense guy, which might make him perfect to go against the media who is heavily Madrid biased.
