Favorite restaurants? Chain crap that nobody gets excited about. These are the kind of restaurants you take your mother to for mother’s day.
This isn’t a reflection of the economy.
It’s a reflection of the over saturation of the US restaurant market.
Another way to look at this is that 10,000s of jobs that require little to no experience are going away. I’d guess many of these are in areas where there’s not much work around for people like that. It’s also nice when you’re traveling to see a familiar chain restaurant instead of risking diarrhea at the local shit holes.
I don’t know about the others but Red Lobster was manipulated into bankruptcy.

Red Lobster is hugely profitable except for the hedge fund that bought them, forced them to sell all their real estate, looted them and then forced them to rent it back.
I’ll never fail to be astounded by the number of chain restaurants that the US has.
How is sbrarro still operating? We had one at our mall till 12 years ago and even then I thought it was a money laundering operation because no one ate there ever.
