  1. Hi. I am Vincent Kompany.

Before taking over Bayern, I would like to ask for any advise you may have.

  2. After yesterday’s Pep quote I really have the feeling that he was in contact with Uli to recommend Kompany to him.

  3. > [@cfbayern] The board of FC Bayern is convinced: ❇️ Thomas Tuchel let the negotiations for a new contract in Munich collapse because he already has the job at Manchester United secured

    Wtf is this?

  4. Hope Kompany turns to be the guy Eberl believes, but idk, this team has shown that problems extend beyond the coach, not sure if an inexperienced manager will be able to tread us through this.

This is why I am also kinda sad about things not working out with Tuchel, it seemed like he was finally reaching to the team and had them playing for him. This season was bad, turgid football, but I feel like with a couple of signings (like a left-footed CB and a 6), maybe we would have played better, now that the team would actually execute the coach’s plan (the clip from Lazio first leg still plays in my mind).

Might be just me, but I had a feeling at the end there that there is a sense of unfinished business around the team, especially Tuchel, Munich final could have become a reality.

  5. typical movie character line: “uhhm guys, we got kompany!”

  6. Somebody asked in another thread why Bayern go for Kompany and not for Ten Hag (or for example Pochettino). My answer was:

I think one of the biggest criticism with Tuchel was that he failed to give Bayern a real system or identity. Most of the time Bayern changed tactics/system/formation depending on the opponent, which lead to very **inconsistent results**.

(Tuchel gets the tactics right = Bayern beat Arsenal, Tuchel gets the tactics wrong = Bayern lose 5-1 to Frankfurt)

Leverkusen in comparison is a well run machine with a clear system, identity, patterns of play, etc. which is the reason why they performed so well and more **consistent**.
I actually thought there were a few games were Xabi was tactically *”outclassed”* (like the first game against Leipzig or Stuttgart) but Leverkusen are so well drilled that they were still able to get a result. They were also perfectly able to deal with the missing players during AFCON

I think the biggest issue with Ten Hag is his failure to establish any real system/identify at United, even after 2 years. United just kinda look like they making it up as they go along.

Kompany in comparison was able to establish his ideas and style of play relatively quickly at Burnley.

In hindsight this was probably also the reason why Bayern tried to go for Rangnick: They are not necessarily looking for a *”world-class tactician”*, they are looking for someone who can give the squad a real identity/system/playing-style, etc. first and foremost

TD;DR: Bayern/Max Eberl hope Kompany is our next Van Gal

  7. Erik ten Hag to @VI_nl: “I stand firm that I find it a disgrace the way Marc Overmars has been treated. The departure of Marc Overmars killed Ajax at the time. And from club perspective it was really stupid to throw him under the bus straight away.”

Yeah, good that we didn’t go for him.

  8. All in all, sacking Nagelsmann was one of the worst decisions of the club in this century. Julian was a project manager, he was suppose to build a strong team in perspective like Klopp did in Liverpool or Pep in Man City. He didn’t have a top striker and Bayern still reached quarterfinals of the UCL and DFB Pokal while being first in the Bundesliga.

  9. > Bayern, Dortmund and Monaco have made ‘huge offers’ for Atalanta forward Samuele Inacio (16) in the past 24 hours. The player will make a decision on his future in the next few days [@TheSecretScout_]

  10. Amadou Onana. Is he Bayern quality? I have not watched his games before, so I can’t really know

But many YouTube comments say that he is terrible on the ball and are surprised clubs would even want to go for him. I read the same thing on a recent r/psg post.

Hope that we do not buy him if the above comments are true

  11. man, i cant sleep past 4 or 5 am even on the weekends

i dont feel terrible, but what the hell

at least gimme some positive bayern news

  12. Does Heidenheim qualify for Conference League if Leverkusen wins tonight?

  13. Watched few YouTube clips off the Desire Doue. He seems to be like a French Musiala or is he a better passer. Anybody with more in depth knowledge?

  14. >Been told #FCBayern already working on Vincent Kompany’s communication next week. They want to make it official early next week for a presentation to the press a bit later next week.
    Probably Thursday.

    >Soon an announcement about an agreement between clubs around 13M£ so 15,1M€. Almost there. #mercato #BurnleyFC

  15. > Max Eberl’s future at FC Bayern will be closely tied to Vincent Kompany’s success. The long search for a coach faced internal criticism. Eberl prevailed with his choice of Kompany, although not everyone at the club liked the idea [@Plettigoal]

Basically gambling his future on Vinny’s success with us. Let’s hope it all works out in the end.

  16. Karl Heinz and Uli Hoeness have to go. They’re not with the times anymore, we’re not in 2010. They have to let Eberl and Freund do their jobs and move on from blocking everything that this club wants to do in the future. Their time’s up.

  17. > 🚨🚨🚨 Exclusive | Now it’s almost a DONE DEAL: Vincent #Kompany will become the new coach of FC Bayern!

    > ➡️ Total agreement was reached with Burnley: Around €10-12m transfer fee

    > ➡️ Verbal agreement has been in place for days

    > ➡️ Contract until 2027 as revealed!

    > The only thing missing is Kompany‘s signing …

    > 🔴 Saga is over … 👏✔️

    > @SkySportDE 🇧🇪

  18. Only €12m for the next Guardiola with an even bigger bald head. We scammed them 😭

  19. I remember there were reports that Alonso was rumoured to take the Gladbach job a while back (before he took the Leverkusen job). This would have presumably been an appointment that Eberl made back then so I’m cautiously optimistic that his backing of Kompany is of a similar ilk.

  20. We never got him as a player, but at least we can see him as a coach…. Now back to praying he is worth it

  21. It’s also cool for nostalgia merchants like me. I remember him playing for Hamburg when I was a little kid and they were still a serious club.

  22. Gotta love that Eberl is doing his Succession-style big play / power move and takes a gamble with Kompany.

If it works out Uli and Kalle have found their succesor to take the reigns of their Empire. If not, the search continues.

In the end, Kahn & Brazzo were no “serious people” a la Kendall and Shiv/Roman, to quote the show even more.

Also, go watch Succesion on WOW/HBO, its fantastic.
