  1. Could go horribly wrong, but could also go right. The foundation of Bayern has always been strong, they have enough individual brilliance to win games on their own, and they need a big personality they can look up to and respect, to control a dressing room with legends like Muller, Kimmich (to an extent) and Neuer. Hope it works out for Vinnie.

  4. The hate on this is crazy. Bayern are in shambles, why not take a punt on a manager with direct philosophical knowledge from the GOAT manager, and one who’s keen on playing attacking football. And if you’re Kompany, how could you possibly turn this offer down? Wish him all the best, and I certainly believe in him.

  7. OK so Pep stays three more years, Vinny wins the Bundesliga at least once, he comes home to Manchester after Pep, done deal.

    I have the greatest admiration for Kompany as a man and a leader, I have no doubt he has the capability to navigate the politics of Bayern. The test is going to be how well he adapts to dealing with truly top players. That’s a very different side to Anderlecht or Burnley. I really, really hope it works out though.

    Gundogan can be his successor!

  8. I don’t care about Bayern in the slightest, but I have to admit this has me pretty excited and I’ll be keeping an eye on them while Vinnie is managing there.

    People (Assna, Liverpool flairs, because of course it’s them) write him off because he got relegated with that shitty Burnley team, conveniently ignoring that both Klopp and Xabi Alonso got relegated with their first management jobs. Kompany, meanwhile did incredibly well with Anderlecht and in his first year at Burnley.

    I hope so badly that he can prove everyone wrong and be successful. Hopefully we can meet him in the CL final next season :))

  9. Very intriguing.. I wonder if he’s making too big of a leap… but hey man I like that he’s backing himself.

    If he can reclaim the Bundasliga and make a QF or even SF run in the CL over his time… then I think he’s coming home in the next 4-5 years.

    However.. I am a Dortmund fan, so nuts to Bayern lol.
