Jamie O’Hara says Man City will never be as big as Man United even if they win 6 UCLs and that City aren’t comparable to Real Madrid, Barca, Liverpool etc. City are owned by a state & they’ve Pep Guardiola. But that will change.

  3. I wouldn’t take anything Jamie O’Hara says seriously – man supports Spurs, but wore a Man City shirt and wanted them to beat Spurs. Don’t think he’s ever had an accurate prediction. Didn’t have any success as a Premiership footballer and the man is stealing a living as a pundit.

  5. People in here trashing o’Hara for what reason exactly? He’s hilarious- and clearly plays it all up a bit for the Sportsbar. Even trying to pass this comment off like he’s not just being a windup is a bit odd.

  10. Manchester United is a blue blood like Alabama or Texas in college football. Manchester city is like Oregon just that unlike Oregon man city had capitalized with their financial backing and won trophies and all the ducks have are cool uniform combinations and hype.

  11. Imagine not enjoying the now of a sport so much you just talk about the past and invent an alternative future as your main talking points. They’re the best team rn, and they’re sketchy and should likely be punished but won’t. Man U is a mid table club currently. Discussing club histories should be reserved for defending your club in an argument or for discussions among the fanbases of the club/rival club. Why the fuck should EVERYONE care about a pointless statement like this and argue over it? Everybody will simply invent their own definition of “Big” and morph it to fit the structure of their feelings.

  17. LISTEN I’m a proud City fan of 3 years y’all, so let me say my peace. Us City fans are proud and loyal, from the US to Abu Dhabi. We just love good soccer. When I was trying to decide which soccer franchise to support, I looked at who was winning everything and I instantly knew City were the franchise for me – because I’m a winner too. Just like all us City fans. We’re all winners at life, and that’s what I love about us. History, culture, tradition – these things mean nothing to me. I love a franchise that’s rich in money, not history. I want my franchise to be the best at everything, be flawless, maybe a little soulless even, just so long as I can say “cope” to strangers online, I know I’m at the right club.     It’s not like state backing is unheard of among those other clubs. Real Madrid once sold their training ground to the government for £300 million so that they could buy Zidane, Ronaldo, and Beckham.

  25. He isn’t wrong, they aren’t big and never will be. No one will ever look back and say they envy the cheating blood oil club with plastics for fans, just like they didn’t envy the Russian oligarch club that used to have the plastic fans. No stories to be told, no passion, no glory, just rule breaking and throwing money at a wall until something sticks. There’s nothing to be proud of with that.

    City, Chelsea and Spurs are not, and never will be, big clubs.

  29. I think in 20 years if they keep on winning, for sure they will be big. You beed to remember kids today will grow up seeing Man City winning it all. Year after year after year. If Man Utd get their act together and start challenging City and winning again, sure. But if not, City will be as big when those kids grow up.
