    In the end, I say let them come, let them work, tax them, let them contribute. 9/10 are legit eco migrants who simply want to work. Why don’t we just let them?

    If they make it to a Kent beach, they get a national insurance number and then pointed to a bus stop. Very little else we need to do.

    Instead we send them into the black economy and are exploited, no taxes are paid, they can’t set their life up, get going, learn skills, become prosperous, there’s no arch from Deliveroo cyclist to running a restaurant because we force them into hiding, it’s totally sh!t. They just want to be legal, successful, happy, and frankly, British. Let them.

    We are at the point where homelessness is rising & we spend millions each day to just try and maintain the current situation to stop deaths.

18. I thought that said 100,000, then I realised it says 10,000 which is really a drop in the ocean compared to the 1,000,000 immigrants we receive every year under the same government which constantly demonizes and scapegoats the people coming across the channel on small boats.

20. We need to provide people with safe and legal routes to the UK.

    People who arrive come to a facility where they stay until their asylum claim is processed.

    If they are legitimately escaping conflict/persecution then we should take them in. If they are simply economic migrants, we send them back to where they came from.

    This would solve the issue.

27. This is about 5% of UK net migration.

    Edit/Note: 1.2M migrated, 500k emigrated, net is 670k so 3.7% of migrants, 6.7% of net if none of them are sent back.

    And people keep saying its impossible to solve, or that stopping the boats will change something.

    Isnt it quite simple? Process the migrants in Calais for Asylum before they get on the boats. If they get to the UK and claim send them back to Calais to be processed. But this requires you to put enough resources into it that you can actually process each application in a month or so.

    Then the ones that actually qualify can be let in and the rest refused entry without costing us millions in accommodation fees.
