  29. This is the problem of allowing small, strategically irrelevant countries into a geo strategic alliance that requires unanimous agreement for action. NATO wanted to extend its umbrella of protection but in the process gave tiny countries the ability to hamstring the entire alliance. Especially when the alliance is formed to counter ONE single strategic aggressor.
