Has booking culture ruined London’s dining scene?

  1. Yes. I don’t want to book a restaurant or a show weeks, if not months in advance.

  2. no, knock on effects of Brexit and the pandemic on staffing and spare income and inclination to go out did, though.

  3. I work at Pizza Express Live and pre-booking is honestly a godsend. We are able to plan out the whole week, predict how busy it’s gonna be, how many staff we need, finishing times, stint etc. so from our perspective it’s pretty epic ☺️

  4. A big part is not going to viral restaurants you see on insta/YouTube

I’ve done it a few times and the majority of times they’ve been pretty underwhelming anyway.
