UK inflation falls to 2.3%

uh we’ve just had the inflation numbers through for April uh it is 2.3% is the inflation rate uh in April those numbers just threw from the office for National statistics down sharply from 3.2% uh in March however K not down as much as economists uh have been expected the bank of England actually thought that uh CPI inflation remember we’re just talking about the rate at which prices are rising or indeed falling uh each year that’s the rate of inflation that we tend to look at uh the bank of England had thought that it might come down to 2% which it’s it that’s its Target so it’s D Duty bound to try and keep that that is very much normal

The rate of inflation dropped to 2.3% in April – down from 3.2% in March.⁠

A drop to 2.1% had been expected by the Bank of England – but it still shows the fight against price rises is being won.⁠

  20. So funny that the government can ask their mates in bug businesses to stop price gauging so that they can look good. Its a pity they didn't impose some extra taxes on businesses making huge profits whilst their greed was running a mock. It was greedflation that did this, and a government letting them get away with it. Tgese big companies are running cartels niw when it cimes to energy, telephone, broadband etc.

  23. Gary Stevenson called this last sunday. Lasyt years april inflation figure of 11% is no longer used in the 12 months statistics so inevitably inflation is lower ….the cons keep on trying to con us
