George Galloway’s party drops candidate over anti-Semitic remarks

1. …is antisemitism suddenly now not a prerequisite for standing as a candidate given Galloway’s behaviour?

3. I’m not surprised. Reform and the Workers Party are trying to find absolutely anyone to stand candidate, having no care whatsoever in their quality to actually govern because they don’t intend them to win their constituency, only to split the vote and they’re short on good people to run in over 650 constituencies. So they often find someone on the political fringes that feels strongly enough about politics to spend their time campaigning so they can win the election, without taking much of their extremists into account.

   I’m quite frankly amazed both have been successful enough to have a candidate in most constituencies, especially the Workers party which was unheard of before Galloway have a candidate or a candidate that they back so they chose not to run (for example they support Corbyn in Islington North).

Just recently he tried to say the UK was involved in the Moscow concert attacks even after ISIS claimed responsibility, make it make sense please

7. Remember that GG 🐱was endorsed at the Rochdale by-election by … Nick Griffin of the British National Party. Chris Williamson refused to repudiate that endorsement.

   On a lighter note, maybe the Workers Party and Reform could unite. We had the Workers Revolutionary Party back in the ‘70s: now we could have the Workers Reform Party UK? An enticing prospect🤮.

9. “Other candidates for the Workers Party include Natalie Potter in Stockton West” who called the woman chosen to represent Israel in Eurovision this year “human vermin”.

   She’s also quoted in this article as saying “They are literally the most ugly people inside and out.” about Jewish people.

   So clearly you can still be incredibly antisemitic and represent the Workers Party, just not AS antisemitic as this guy.

10. He’s probably antisemitic because your party is a breeding ground for such dense behaviour.

11. Does that mean he been ditched by the party because his remark was deemed insufficiently antisemetic and thus not reflective of a genuine racist jew hater’s unwavering commitment to the cause?
