Hi, I keep seeing this sort of old English (hunting?) style on social media etc. and I’m wondering what kind of style it is. Also im wondering what kinds of people usually wear these clothes? And if it’s sometimes more of a “dress up” thing for parties/ events etc. Please enlighten me lol.

The girl’s are countrywear / equestrian. Brands like Fairfax & Favour, Dubarry, Barbour, Holland Cooper, Hoggs of Fife. Any brands/ shops that are country sports / equestrian will have this kind of clothes – it’s not really dress up, just what equestrian / farming girls wear when they go out to local pub – but also events such as Cheltenham Festival / Badminton Horse Trials etc
Some people dress in a version of that all the time for various reasons: they are honking poshoes. They are farmers and they buy clothes from one shop and it only sells clothes like that. They are from Romford but they are going to the horse races
Edit: I own a pair of green aigle wellies and a barbour jacket because they are the best clothes for wet English weather
I’m from Scotland and I know a few people that went to study agriculture on uni. They all go to events where people dress like that. I guess it is a farming/equestrian style and there are practicalities to the boots and all but I think most of it is just a dress up thing.
When the Royal Highland Show is on in Edinburgh, most people out of thousands there dress like this. I’m talking about the people that own horses and livestock that bring it for the show
