We have atomized, subhuman cogs/serfs/drones/slaves/cattle competing for survival, instead of actual humans eating/fighting our abusive ruling class, who have rigged every institution against most people. 1. She sets up the strawman argument that neoliberals are promoting the idea that you have to compete with everyone else around you and be “the best” or else you’re a loser. Everything else she says is predicated upon that. But that’s not the message at all. so as usual, the truth invalidates her position.

It is immensely funny to me that the people always telling people they need to stop striving so hard and stop trying to better themselves always seem to be the people already at the top of the economic hierarchy. They never seem to be single moms working full time at Kohl’s or young people trying to make it in life, it’s always someone like this who is very clearly upper middle class at an absolute minimum. Someone who the system has clearly benefitted immensely telling everyone how terrible the system is.
