Classified Leak: RUS Jammers Make HIMARS Useless!!

has Russia rolled out technology that renders some of the West’s most advanced weapons useless I’m Paul US Army Combat veteran let’s talk about this so This is actually leaked documentation coming from The Washington Post uh where they obtained classified documents from the Pentagon that actually revealed that Ukraine is reporting that Russian electronic warfare systems have become a lot more sophisticated that it’s sounds like the Russians have developed a uh electronic Jammer that creates a cone shooting upward uh into literally space uh that jams the ability of weapon systems to talk to GPS the problem is that the GPS guidance system right it because of the the trajectory that weapons like the high Mars or Excalibur GPS guided are hillery shells um they because they move at such a fast velocity particularly as they close in on their target that’s also when GPS becomes most important right GPS is able to give these weapon systems right ballistics alone will get a high Mars rocket or an artillery shell to you know 85% of the accuracy but that last 15% happens as the round is coming in on the target he needs to be able to Ping the satellite get a final ping on its location and make that that last adjustment as it’s flying through but because the velocity is so fast that if it loses that connection to that satellite in that crucial moment it’s going to miss its Target potentially uh un because it’s unable to make those final Corrections so this actually piece of Russian jamming technology which operates from the ground projecting a cone of interference into the sky that blocks weapons from communicating to satellites is going to prevent them from Guiding their way to the Target right and in the case of the Excalibur shells the weapon lost its potential and Effectiveness fell to just 10% right the himar system is now completely ineffective according to one Ukrainian military Source right it relies on that final GPS walkon in the Russians electronic warfare disabled satellite signals rendering the high Mars worthless and this is I think actually a uh the final iteration of a system Russia was testing for some time we reported earlier that in East Eastern Poland large swans of the country for a few minutes I think maybe two hours um this was maybe three or four months ago uh reported GPS outages uh trains cars navigation systems uh reported that the GPS signal either became um spotty or totally ineffective and that implied that Russia was experimenting with GPS jamming weapons and this is a testament again to the kind of Russian uh uh defense industrial bases ability to innovate in the kind of the Russian way right and that while Russia relying on large swans of low skill infantry with cheap equipment is a part of the Russian strategy it doesn’t mean that Russia doesn’t have technology capable of thoring uh a highly sophisticated Western Tech and remember this is not something likely that uh Russia threw together in the face of uh the Ukraine conflict I suspect it’s probably technology that that Russia was trying to develop for a while and the need to finish the project so to speak became really acute in the course of this war and so this is has caused a little bit of a panic among officials in Kiev or in the Pentagon uh because they need to find a way to counterman this Russian jamming technology um which is again taking the ability to have GPS guided systems is one of the things that gives Ukraine its largest advantage over Russian technology that doesn’t have these kind of ability to deliver Precision strikes right Russia has the volume Advantage it has a lot more artillery even with Western aid but if Western Equipment is more precise more targeted more effective than it can offset that quantity with quality right if you only need one shell to destroy a tank it doesn’t matter that Russia has 10 times as many shells if it requires 10 times as many shells to achieve the same Battlefield effect so countering this jamming technology is a huge issue facing uh the Pentagon right and and here’s the thing the Pentagon knows that this Tech is not going to stay inside Russia right it knows that China would want this Tech it knows that uh it its other allies across the world are going to want this Tech even potentially it’s not clear on how portable the system is a version of it might be sent to forces like uh Iran which could work its way to Hezbollah where it could thwart um you know Israeli weapon systems and so this is a really dangerous piece of tech we also know the US has been explicit that Russia has fielded very um uh large space-based satellite killer weapons meaning that Russia is beginning to create a a scalable or a multi-layered defense against satellite and GPS technology right so you have of course their groundbased satellite guidance counter measures then they also have space-based GPS satellite counters we also heard that Russia has taken out another key Advanced across the northern border this could also be part of that same sort of broad spectrum system that we think Russia tested uh that knocked out uh GPS in Poland it could have also been calibrated to knock out starlink over a large area one day before the attacks it just shut down set a soldier who goes by the call sign Ajax it became super super slow and Ajax said quote we’re losing the electronic warfare fight this is uh interesting because a lot of people uh were critical of President Trump when he rolled out the space force right a entire branch of the United States dedicated to winning and dominating in space and it seemed Preposterous but now we’re seeing that these space-based weapon systems are essential to success on the battlefield right between starlink which enables ukrainians from basically anywhere in the battlefield to get high-speed internet to talk to each other see each other’s drone feeds and get relay orders um communic status everything um being able to thw that to disrupting the guidance systems of key high-tech weapons uh winning in space is essential to winning on the ground um and Ukraine is working with SpaceX to resolve these outages but again we know that Elon Musk head of SpaceX has been weirdly pro-russian in this fight um right while it hasn’t been perfect Russia clearly has the technology when they need it they can really thwart the starlink effort right by throwing messing up the latency and the signal um right he said actually a drone pilot said that soldiers were turning to text messaging apps because the starlink was so slow um and it’s a real sign that the US does need to and hopefully takes this conflict as a chance to invest in better more powerful and effective space-based security systems right again sci-fi told us that Space Warfare would be PE PE lasers deflect their shields on pew pew but the reality is that the Pew pews are just jamming signals uh their signals going from the from space-based satellites to the ground and back and the war is one of signals Warfare right jamming counter jamming uh and and potentially actual satellites hitting each other taking each other out blowing each   6. The Russians are using high tech shovels apparently. This is not the only weapons system rendered useless by Russian technology. Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb are just about as useless.

  8. I am not so sure about this, While Yes HIMAR'S and other U.S Weapons System's Rely on GPS Guidance They Also Have Internal Guidance hat Should Be able to Act Independently of GPS Signals.So I am not To Sure About This Leaked Report.
    And I Know For A Fact That Ukraine Has Conducted Successful ATACMS Missile Attacks in The Last Few Days With The U.S ATACMS Missile System's Rely on GPS Guidance They Also Have Internal Guidance, And Some of These ATACMS Strikes Have Been Conducted Deep Into Russian Occupied Crimea

    But I Will Say if You Rely on GP'S you Will Die By GPS, That is Were The Internal Guidance Comes into Play to Back Up The GPS

    They don't render HIMARS (or other GPS Weapons) useless .. they just reduce the hit chance.

  13. However this jamming system is also a great beacon by itself. Weapons that aim jammers as they emit great amount of electromagnetic waves same as radars.

  14. The Ukrainians just released footage of them taking out Russian state of the art radar system at the back in "safe areas" with ATACMS.

  15. Surely America expected at some point that systems like HIMARS could have their GPS, etc. jammed. I find it hard to believe that it caught the USA with their pants down. The DoD and U.S. Space Force knew years ago that both Russia and China were working on this and it would happen so they have been working to deal with this.

    Common sense dictates that they have potential plans in place to mitigate this. And the other side of the whole situations is that it allows America to battle test such systems, so they can be harder against future conflicts and jamming attempts. We are not talking about the Russian military here!!

  18. Just a thought.
    The new jamming weapon system, concerning skylink and GPS, might not be a new technical issue, but Elon Musk himself. The UDF is reporting now for nearly a year, that their starlink systems are working very slow, whilst the Russian ones seem to have full power. I personally have no technical knowledge of this system, but I think, that each starlink entity has an ID, like a MAC-adress e.g., and by its geolocation, it can be supported by more or less bandwidth trough starlink. The starlink satellites are nothing else but servers in space with a high perfomance receiver and sender ability.
    I think Elon Musk gets payed from both sides. By the Pentagon, that, so sorry, can only get a flat performance in Ukraine and the Russians, that pay for the Ukrainean performance being bad and theit own quite well. Elon Musk, if he wanted to, could slow down the "illegal" Russian starlinks too. I think, he would, he would be neutral or a real supporter of freedom and democracy. But this seems not to be the case.
    One more theory:
    What if these starlink satellites would be able to manipulate the output of surrounding GPS-satellites, by sending out modulating frequencies. With an electronic counterwafe you can eleminate or weaken each electronic signal. The GPS-satellites are only senders. It's quite easy to manipulate these and in space even noone probably would know. One can't go there and look whats happening in place at the moment. So, in case I'm right, this has nothing to do with Russian high tech, but with US high tech, lend-leased to the Rusians by Elon Musk
    An instument, like starlink is too powelful to let it remain in the hands of a private company, lead by a weird minded,, narzisstic person.
    One lesson, that we, the free West, have to learn out of this war is, that free, uncontrolled capitalism is not a servant to menkind, but its biggest enemy. Perhaps I'm getting too pathetic in this, but I'm convinced, that I'm right.

  20. GPS can be jammed by anything due to the extreme accuracy of the data. I remember my math teacher talking to us about how it worked in college.

    It's just using the time 3 satellite signals are broadcasting to derive their position and radius to figure out where it isn't. Any interference would mess with it.

  23. Wasn’t this a predictable countermeasure? It seems to me that the arms manufacturers dreaming up weapons usually think of likely countermeasures to their new weapons, and jamming GPS is the most obvious and achievable countermeasure for GPS guided weapons systems.

  29. Possibly why there is talk of using Western aid to hit inside Russia. In a normal situation you would pick out the source of the jammers and no matter if they are on the invaders side as likely in Kharkiv they are.

  30. WOW…….thats the knowledge of two years ago!!!!!!!! U can "JAM" GPS with a simple FM-transmitter! BUT……..u can get over that JAM with more modern AND new low tech. So the shell remembers the last GPS conact data and keeps going. STILL only a few meters away of the perfect target hit. ENOUGH for Clusters!!!!!

  36. You can jam any signal but that does not mean it's 100% full proof there are always ways around jamming changing the spectrum and wave length of the signal works very well weather its encrypted or not there are always voids and jamming you can get through

  37. The Russians attack earlier this month coincided with a solar flare that caused major problems with space based radio signals. Tesla cars did not navigate properly at times due to gps problems. So the interference with gps in Ukraine would have also been affected.
    Another effect of this solar flare radio interference would have affected starlink communications.
    So
    As usual mainstream media making sensational claims maybe for clicks,😂

  40. This was news back last year and the full story was about how there was a arms race going on with this.
    It's strange how successful himars is being in the last week or so.
    Of course this signal is going to light up the universe on awacs or Intel satellite and hard to hide the hardware.
    With drone jamming the Ukrainians are using AI for target recognition the last mile. Your mobile camera can track a face.

Россия готовилась к началу этой гонки, с конца нулевых…Продовольственная независимость, финансовая независимость, технологическая независимость, энергетическая независимость.А запад впадал во все большую зависимость от капитала и производств в странах третьего мира.   48. A GPS signal is a ping on a specific frequency. If they flood those frequencies, gps equipment can’t measure its distance to one of the three necessary satellites. It doesn’t require much sophistication, they’ve had this a long time, and is why they developed their own satellite system.

It is one of the main reason why usa doesn't want to send any newer equipment to Ukraine… Because high-tech can be useless or destroyed by 400 $ drone 😂😂😂 problem is – usa having a lot of satellite guided tech ( gps etc ) ammo and systems – they are really modern and deadly and accurate, perfect accurate when work…. But anti electronic warfare systems beat em … So standard rocket from himars is top weapon on real battlefield – guided ammo not . All russian tech is the same as in chiina by now … Be prepared , choina going to take taiwan soon .   50. If they can jam Himars , why do the Atacms hit their targets ??? It dosnt seem that effective , does it . And its about the smart bomb Sweden and USA developed , that can be jamed , because it dosnt have any anti jaming device "yet" .
