  1. Why would someone who is leading in all the polls go slumming it to the wing nut convention looking for votes?

    Unless their polling shows the wing nuts will break for RFK jr.

    I mean he was basically groveling last night. I watched some of that speech. He was squinting so hard to read the word salad on the teleprompter it was hilarious with a laugh track of boos added in.

    This guy is desperate, and that speech shows how much.

  2. I wouldn’t say he begged but rather he taunted them. Saying nominate me unless you like winning 3 % of the vote isn’t begging. 

    As idiotic as Trump is this move probably won over some libertarians as they are easily swayed by shiny metalic looking objects. 

  3. “Swamp Creature” is an excellent insult considering “Drain the Swamp” was Trump’s slogan, and how he not only failed to do that but added more shit to it.

  5. It is always astounding when people blame the government for society’s ills.

    The actual Swamp is the greed of the wealthy and corporations, who use their money to wield outsized influence over our government and our society.

    But it is always helpful to think of Libertarians as housecats – they think of themselves as fierce, rugged individualists while they’re being cared for and supported in ways they don’t understand.

  6. Trump standing in front of a sign saying “Become Ungovernable” is like…so perfect. Can you imagine the outrage if it was Biden standing there?

    It might be even better than CPACs “We are all domestic terrorists”

  7. I oddly just watched both Swamp Thing films. The creature in that is actually more attractive than Trump.

    Wow, at least libertarians don’t take kindly to some con man trying to take over their party like Republicans did.

    And puts on display that he thinks everyone is like him. Doesn’t matter what our platform is, we just want to win!

    Edit: he then insults them for being “happy with 3% every four years”, which is rich coming from the guy who was just desperately begging that tiny number for their votes.

  12. Ungovernable + Trump so perfect. There’s a laundry list of how he and his gov’t operated in the 4 years with big players like William Barr, Peter Navarro, Betsy DeVos, Louis DeJoy, Michael Flynn, Scott Atlas, Kelly Conway, Kaylee McEneny and so on. And it became so obvious during the pandemic in 2020, hijacking supply planes/ships carrying PPE and selling them to the highest bidder (and FEMA was involved in the bids to push the prices up!), and giving PPE funds to millionaires and so called business owners that didn’t need it. Holy hell, if Trump gets back in you know things will be worse than the 4 years because he’s going to retaliate.

    Glad to see the libertarians booing him, I think most of us knew that RFK would hurt Trump more than Biden anyways.

    This was great to watch. He’s gotten so used to adoring crowds mindlessly cheering for any insane gibberish that comes out of his mouth, it’s amazing to watch him drown in front of regular crowd that’s unfriendly because regular people recognize Trump is an unbelievable asshole. He didn’t know what to do and just kept pushing through his awful Miller-written, third-person bullshit to the end. Turns out without his “riffs”, his stump is only like 20-25 minutes long, and it’s terrible. Also, his issues with speaking words correctly are clearly getting worse.

  19. The libertarian motto at this event is “Become ungovernable” and the Republican motto at their cpac event was “we are all domestic terrorists”

  21. Libertarians have lost all credibility. Just having trump there with his authoritarian bent have demonstrated that they have abandoned their true libertarian values and pay lip service to real freedom. Hell, at this point Democrats align better with libertarian values than the christofacist repugs. Sad end to the movement.

  22. Politically, isn’t it good to expand your voting base? Going to the nomination was a smart move. If Trump can get the libertarians and independents, and has a VP that can raise republican cash, he’s going to be hard to beat. Vote Biden!
