I’m of the opinion that the decision to allow U.S./NATO weapons to hit targets in Russia has already been made and they’re just going through the theatre of preparing to announce it.
Guarantee that when they do announce it, the HiMARS ATACMS and other munitions will be all set to fire simultaneously on the minute and strike everything Russia has in range before they can react.

I’m thinking that the White House is giving Russia a ‘heads-up’ so they can withdraw essential equipment further back from the frontlines. Also, all the extra attacks by Russia on civilian targets is their way of getting in first before they move further back and before the F16s arrive.

If a country strike in your territory, you should be able to strike back in their. No matter where the weapons come from. Russia use NK, iranian and chinese ammo and weapons to kill ukrainian. Ukraine should be allowed to remove any russian life form around its borders and further if needed to.
Just make a call to Zelenskyy and send him an email. No public announcement or statements needed. Better opsec and allows plausible deniability.
Can’t provide air defense, won’t allow Ukraine to strike Russia. Do they want Ukraine to win??
The way to do it correctly would be to tell Ukraine “ok, go for it, just wait a second while we ‘publicly debate it’ so they don’t see it coming.”
Then while the news is all about how the west is saying “well, we might…” in public, Ukraine just does with the biggest sucker punch they can possibly put together.
Then everyone sits back and laughs about how they had the go-ahead MONTHS ago while Russia tries to pick its ass up off the ground.
