Will they be allowed to fly across the Russian border?
Important for Ukrainian pilots to train in a western jet trainer, because Soviet and western attitude indicators (artificial horizon) work differently in the roll axis.
Western style has a plane symbol that is fixed in relation to the cockpit and the horizon rotates, the Soviet style has a horizon that is fixed and the little plane symbol turns.
After the French training, they finally can begin training on the F-16. This batch of pilots is months away.
I wonder if there are a lot more pilots being trained behind the scenes
