  1. I’m skeptical of the sustainability of the supply chain, energy intensiveness, and the manufacturing process. Upside Foods was essentially caught lying to shareholders. Instead of using the bioreactors that feature in tours, they actually use roller bottles and an incredibly labor intensive process to manufacture their chicken pieces.

    Regenerative agriculture is ready to scale today. You can’t sustain current levels of meat consumption, but you can provide a lot of meat, dairy, eggs, leather, wool, etc. without creating separate supply chains for each product, use mostly solar energy, and reach the market at prices comparable to conventional production.
