  1. Yes we’re all struggling.. except for all those at the top who are seeing record profits on these raised products.

  2. Let’s say normally inflation is at 2% and people get a 3% raise every year. Great! Every year your lifestyle gets 1% better. Including compounding all the previous increases, it was pretty good for a while.

But 20% inflation in two years? Even if people still got raises during those two years (and many companies froze them at least one year), that means we’re suddenly -14% for that period.

So even if inflation were now back down to 2%, and raises back at 3%, claiming this makes up for everything is absurd. It means it will be 10-15 years at least until we’re “caught up” back to the same lifestyle/purchasing power as before.

Unless they find a way to massively accelerate wage growth, “back to normal” doesn’t cut it.

  3. If I hear “supply chain issue” one more time I’m going to fucking lose it.

COVID was 4 years ago. Any supply chain issue is self inflicted or used as an excuse to raise prices and cover for greed.

  4. Meanwhile, we get gaslit that “everything is fine” and “the economy is great!” but I know that I’m making more money than I ever have before and I’m broker than I’ve ever been because the money just isn’t going as far as it use to. I had more money saved in the bank and more food in the fridge when I made almost $10 less an hour than I do now.

  5. Wow, you don’t say, as a Canadian, I’ve seen prices go up on literally everything, and everyone I know is in massive debt because of it.

  6. And yet the companies are making record breaking profits 🤔

  7. News flash assholes, the prices have been going up the whole time!

  8. You didn’t think that the billionaires were going to skip a few years of profit just because of some stupid virus, did you? Gotta make up for lost time…

  9. Our right will never, never, never admit this.

“Yes, inflation is a global factor. Inflation is the steady increase in the average prices of goods and services in a given region. Between the third quarters of 2020 and 2022, global inflation increased from 1.9% to 8.8%. In 2022, inflation in the US reached 7% year-on-year, the highest increase since 1982, and in the eurozone it reached 5.1%, the highest level since 1997”

  10. Gee whiz ya reckon professor.

Everyone who’s working is feeling the effects (I was gonna say pinch but that’s not correct. It’s worse than a pinch).

  11. 15 dollars for a corn dog at the County Fair here in the North State of cali. Like wtf. Got my kid a snow cone for 8 bucks and that was it.

  12. These companies say they have no choice but to raise prices, but aren’t they also seeing record profits?

  13. Prices are rising due to corporate greed. Put that in the headline. Please and thank you.

  14. Here is something quite interesting to me. I just came back from japan for my second time. Been in 2019 and 2024. The prices were relatively the exact same. Why is it just us that we are seeing these ridiculous numbers.

My cousins from Germany visited last year and said our prices are absolutely fucked up.

  15. Yo, Trudeau is doing this all over the world too?! Goddamm
