  4. As always when FIFA rankings are discussed I feel the urge to point out that this a score of past achievements not an assessment of current abilities.

  7. it is interesting that the UK gets 4 chances to win sporting events. does any other country try this Strat?

  11. Belgium could lose to San Marino 3 times in a row and somehow move up the rankings.

  12. Which one is the first? I can’t make my eyes Chinese enough to read that map.

  17. Quick reminder that FIFA rankings is based on a points system from a conglomerate of results from championship games, qualification games, even friendly games. 

    It’s not really to be taken seriously. Especially not on a worldwide level, where teams from different confederations will have vastly different chances of collecting points (for example the US is currently in 11th place, and Mexico has often been in the absolute top, despite neither team actually being close to that good). 

  18. How is Romania 46th if it was 1st in the group with no losses for the EURO qualifiers, above Switzerland, which is 19th?

  23. How is Russia still 35? They haven’t played an official game in 2 years.

  25. That ranking sucks as it counts friendly matches and a wholla lot other irrelevant statistics. Croatia was 2nd, and 3rd in the last 2 world cups, almost won the nations league and is 10th…
