> “Growing up in L.A. she had classmates, kids who were embarking on careers when they’re 12 or 5 or whatever,” Simmons, 69, tells PEOPLE. “Michelle and I both knew that it just wasn’t our vibe to be taking her out on professional auditions when she was in seventh grade.”
“We know a thing or two because we’ve seen a thing or two”
JK Simmons is a seriously underrated actor. This makes me like him even more.
Good for them. If a kid’s passion is acting / performing, there’s always theater to hone that skill set and still allow them to do what they love. Even in a non-celebrity setting, kids that grew up with a lot of attention have difficulty adjusting to adulthood when that supply runs out. And in the entertainment business there’s always that risk of your kid being surrounded by vultures who treats a child as a commodity rather than a human being.
Detroit Tigers fan. I like that about him.
