Russia makes biggest gains in 17 months • FRANCE 24 English

certainly the biggest Russian advances in a very long time if you look at the scale of Ukraine though and compared to the very very rapid advances they made in early 2022 when they took vast sades of territory I mean it’s peanuts they haven’t taken any towns yesterday there was in the beginning of the day great fear that Russian forces would enter vchan a town near the Russian border 70 km Northeast of harv and that vchan would therefore become the first town of any significance to be reoccupied by Russia having been occupied in 2022 then freed by midaf afternoon on Wednesday the Ukrainian armed forces were saying that they’d pushed the Russian forces back from the edge of V Chans and that city was no longer under immediate threat though of course um it’s been very largely destroyed pummeled in recent days evacu say you know whole streets are destroyed there’s nothing left there saying people are still being evacuated from those border areas and in other parts of the Border region um seems the Russians did take a little bit more um terrain but basically what the ukrainians are saying is that they’ve managed to stop the advance in the northern part of harive region but the fighting is of course still going on in so many other places along the front line where the Russians are inching forward in donet region actually also in eastern harv region near the town of kupiansk and in the South um in zapia region where the Russian defense Ministry claimed to have taken the town the city sorry the village I meant to say of roboton key Village in aisia region the ukrainians deny this they say that the Russians just do a sort of propaganda operation where they get to the edge of the village take themselves um a photo of themselves with a Russian flag and according to the ukrainians die very shortly afterwards galiva CAG there in l

  3. … what's really crazy is it only took about 6,000 troops and a week to do it. When you can drop a guided bomb every 30 seconds, and you have 10 guns to every one your enemy has you don't need 30,000 soldiers to break through. It isn't 2022 anymore; RU fights like US now.

What about Bakhmut (70 k people), Soledar (10 K people), Avdiivka (10 K people), Mariinka (10 K people), Ocheretino (5 K people) and many others – all these cities and towns were literally taken by Russians since 2023 with heavy battles and assaults.
