okay hear me out, Bayern signed Thomas Tuchel after he won the UCL with Chelsea. so now, instead of signing a manager who won the CL or EL or even ECL we’ve signed someone who is 19th place behind Luton Town, while having a 100M transfer budget.

People keep saying"oh he won the championship with 101 points. Bayern wins champions leagues not second tier leagues. So tell me what do you think of this? Am I right or wrong

  1. 100M for 12 players? doesnt get you much quality when the average joe costs like 30M. Also Bayern had their fair share of CL winning coaches that couldnt replicate it, the most success we had was with a parenial assisstant coach that stepped in as a interim and cleaned the floor with the rest of the elite, including Tuchel. Its a new day and age, young coaches are on the up, many of them winning domestic titles in the process, Slot, Xabi, Inzaghi, Amorim, then you have the ones doing a great job like Hoeness and De Zerbi, so why not risk it, you never know who could be the next one, and why it couldnt be Kompany. Pep was never a big time coach before he landed the job at Barca, became one of the greatest ever, same with Zidane, winning 4 CL with Real, Bayern has a decent young roster, with a few quality transfers, we could easily be back dominating for the next 10 seasons. Trust the process.

  2. Look at what Kompany was working with at Burnley and it will answer your question

  3. Two questions. 1. What other options do we have?
    2. What is wrong with Kompany? From my standpoint, we get a young coach who quite literally plays the aggressive style we like, who also happens to speak German. Before we crucify the man, why don’t we give it a chance and see what happens? What’s the worst that happens? We don’t win a league…?

  4. Not at all. Anyone who is familiar with english football will no burnley is a wreck of a club that only sean dyche could keep in the premier league. I think most people would agree that only sean dyche could even think they can do that. Kompany came in after he was sacked, created his own system, won the championship and then struggled because burnleys owners dont have the money to finance staying in the big leagues. The gap between the 2 leagues is massive, and unless ur willing to spend 240 million to overhaul your entire team, a championship team will not stay in the prem. It takes legit miracles to stick in the prem now.

Burnley went from playing 442 “brexit football” as we call it in the uk, to a style of play only high class managers or peps apprentices would dare to play with that club. That being said, i think that shows a lack of tactical flexability, for if it was a more experienced manager, i think they would have switched to more unsavoury football to desperately try to stay in the prem.

We literally have just bought one of peps apprentices, i doubt it can go wrong. We have a strong team but noone seems to be able to make it click like flick did. Lets hope that kompany can, instead of bashing him before we even see preseason

  5. I’ll give him 3-4 games before saying anything. But it’s not official yet, right?

  6. * Writes 5000 word article on how this is a very rational appointment, actually *
