“Putin’s patience snapped” …. Hopefully his neck will follow…..
Who would have thought a government corrupt from the very top would inspire the same behavior going down the ranks.
I wish patience = spine
By corruption, they mean people not doing what Putin dictates.
Currently Schoigu is keeping maximal distance to every window in his house …
>“The fight against corruption is consistent work,” the Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday. “It is not a campaign, it is constantly ongoing work.”
The fight to find sacrificial lambs to redirect Putin’s anger away from ourselves and preserve our skimmed wealth is constant ongoing work.
Country founded on corruption as one of its core traits has an incompetent government that can’t actually get anything done when push comes to shove, who could have seen that coming. Certainly not the old corrupt idiot leading it.
Im not going to conclude anything yet but its very interesting…
The bitter irony here is that Russia has allowed itself to become thoroughly corrupt to grease the wheels of Putin’s then emerging regime and state, but only when they stepped into the ant’s nest that is their special military operation, they realized how they dug far too deep with the corruption which has been backfiring as of late, and now needs to be controlled in order for them to have their war machine marching on.
If the schemers with Putin in the centre _knew_ back then — some twenty years ago — when installing the corrupt mechanisms and nepotist schemes, that when push comes to shove they’d have to open the lid on those same systems, for the country to get a semblance of function in terms of quality of production, well, then it almost comes across as a sensible strategy on their part to have had it the way it has been — allow as much corruption during peace time as it benefits the elite and keeps Russia “stronk”, but actually curb it enough when needed, so that there’s actual output when the elite can hardly be weened off free money.
Unless Putin didn’t know he’d end up with a broken country, and just did not expect the corrupt mess he now is cleaning up with “impatience”. In which case he quite simply appears a simpleton in the political aspect. I don’t think he’s that stupid, so I am leaning towards the former assessment myself. The bonus for him is he can sell “I am fighting corruption” to the thoroughly brainwashed masses now as well, as if he didn’t create the problem he is now forced to untangle, largely by himself.
They are all kleptocrats, so it won’t make any difference. FSB is as corrupt as the Russian military. It’s basically a nation run by the mob with Putin as boss / imaginary Tsar.
There’s 3 things Russia inherited from the old empire:
1. Corruption
2. Incompetence
3. Old military stock
– the realization that russian military might is more a work of fiction than it is reality…as its been set in stone for decades and decades of corruption and incompetence and yes men up and down the ranks,,,let have a pity putin party
This isn’t about corruption. This is about Putin’s paranoia. Because his ‘special military operation’ has evolved into a major conflict costing hundreds of thousands of lives, he should feel very nervous about the potential for a military coup. The accusations of corruption avoid the mentioning of the widespread unhappiness inside Russia’s military.
Putin is essentially taking out the most likely plotters before they have a chance to enact any coup.
This tells us much. Not only is Putin’s paranoia off the charts, the dissatisfaction within his armed forces is too. This punctures the notion the Russia can continue to attack Ukraine with meatwave after meatwave. There IS a limit to how long the army in particular will tolerate this as a viable tactic.
There has been recent chatter about Putin wishing to call a ceasefire with boundaries drawn where the frontlines currently stand. If true, this tells us Putin either needs to pause to regroup or he genuinely feels that his position is becoming increasingly threatened. Do not believe that Putin is an immovable rock. He isn’t.
This is Stalin’s USSR all over again.
> In the case of high-level prosecutions, the official said, Putin would probably be informed before an arrest was sought. But, the official added, he said it was unlikely the corruption cases were being initiated by the Kremlin itself.
> “Shoigu kept the FSB largely away from the ministry throughout his tenure, there were very few arrests. Once the FSB has their teeth in you, who knows how far they will go.”
Ah, the FSB, famously orchestrating the opening moves of the 3-day operation. Seems its there time to shine once again.
Remember, the first casualty in war is the truth,
So be careful believing anything that’s being written about Ukraine or Russia right now.
Corruption is the cover story. The reason is: Putin attempting to protect himself against (another) coup attempt(s). But as his grip tightens his control weakens.
When you model corruption at the top, it gets imitated the whole way down. This will never go away, a chronic problem brought on by his actions and “leadership” style.
If he is successful at ending corruption he himself will be eliminated
so, prigozhin coup goals are now being implemented? also prig was honest saying there is no nazis in ukraine and this is straight land grab power move by mafia state. but freaking putin gaslights whole world with his BS propaganda
Putin has an incredibly alpha patience so this is fake news….lol does anyone take putin seriously now?
I like how he threw a fit and refused to replace any of his military guys when the Wagner dude asked him to, and now he’s scrambling to do exactly that.
The buck stops at the top. Putin needs to fall out a window and land with two bullets in the back of his head, because is the sole reason for all of it.
>“It’s the dream of any investigator to put a real live deputy minister of defence in prison, it’s cool, it’s the dream of a lifetime,” said one former Kremlin official. “You get new epaulettes for that, a promotion, some kind of award. You can earn a reputation for that.”
New Epaulettes. The first thing on his list of shit he is looking forward to is the cosmetic upgrades for his clothing. Literal TF2 hat collector behaviour.
