I'm the red arrow. It was early in the morning on Louise lane, there was almost no traffic, I was turning left and there's a red light there. I waited and after a few moments blue comes and puts himself to my right. As the red light goes green we both start but he's forced to brake and doesn't like it and honks at me.

Who's supposed to give way ? Was I badly positioned?

edit : other piece of context it was 6.15am and there was absolutely no one behind blue and red. The traffic was very very light.

edit edit : I already wrote there was no traffic sorry. But last piece of context and quite the twist, blue is my colleague (didn't realize it on the spot) and he sent a e-mail where he said I was quite the nervous type on the road. I'll admit I didn't let him through, but I didn't honk nor particularly accelerated agressively, just held my ground.

  3. On an umarked road, the vehicle on the right always has right of way. Some use this to force their way through traffic and I know it doesn’t seem right having already been in similar situations BUT these are the rules…

  4. What a dumbass, he came from a single lane, going to a single lane street, and he thought it was a good idea to double up against you? He’s clearly in the wrong.

  6. Is that red marked light having a left pointing arrow for your lane? Because if not you should not be stopping there and wait there while giving way for cars going straight on the other side. But looking at this intersection I guess there are lights for going left and lights for going straight (and right).

  7. It doesn’t matter if you are in the wrong or not. What’s most important is that you honk back louder and longer than the guy that honked at you!

  8. How can you think you are wrong? He tried to overtake you over a bicycle lane!
