  1. Saudi Arabia isn’t our friend. They never were. They were responsible for 9/11 and we didn’t do anything about it. Their government openly denigrates human rights, does not support liberalism, and is not a democracy. We support it for oil. This must end.

    We also started two wars in countries that weren’t Saudi Arabia so I don’t know if we were any better. The 2000’s were a cluster fuck.

  9. Saudi Arabia might strengthen alliances/relations with the US without including Israel in the process (because they don’t want to do a 2 state solution) and now this sort of stuff starts trickling out.

    The timing of it is amusing.  I personally don’t understand how we gave the Saudis a pass (I mean from geopolitical, OPEC standpoint I do) on 9/11, but that ship has sailed.

  29. Shocked I say. Oh wait Saudi royal family known to be part of 9/11 back in early 2021 but GOP and their rich backers (including Trump) are in bed with the royal family and their money so they distracted America with Iraq and Afghan wars with dissent “during a time of war” shouted down.

    Dems caved as they do but conservatives across the board were very pleased with plan war plans and with ignoring the Saudis.

    Think had like 90% approval from conservatives. Just something to note when some conservative from that time grumbles about how post 9/11 was handled, chances are they were nodding along with same mindlessness then that they do now with Trump.

    For all intents post 9/11 proved just how easy it was to trick the American people to support stupid things and been used constantly ever since.

  30. Saudi Arabia is an essential part of the petrodollar system that keeps the dollar as the world’s reserve currency, and 3000 people being murdered isn’t going to get the U.S. government to upset that system.

  33. This has been an open “secret” for years now. I remember a judge ruling a while back that families of victims were allowed to sue the Saudi Arabian government. That country has openly hated us for decades, and our government keeps capitulating to them because they have money and oil.
