The thing about “those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it”, is it’s more about why/how it happened then simply that it happened period. What led to the event(s) specifically? What was the cultural and societal climate of the day etc. These concepts are poorly skimmed over in school unfortunately.

I never noticed before than Daladier became president of the council of ministers the day after Hitler became chancellor. 5 years later, he became president of the council for the third time and signed the Munich agreement…
