Hello Poland, my father and I did some Ancestry DNA and got some results. We are Argentinians and my father’s grandfather (my great grandfather) migrated from these regions to Argentina around 1920.
The Hungarian cluster throws me off because from what I have researched, this area has more history with Poland and Czechia than Hungary.
Another poster from this subreddit allowed me to research my last name (Dutka) from a Polish website. My last name clustered heavily in Silesia and southeast Poland in Galicia. Following the pictures, I think Silesia is the most likely place my ancestors lived due to these factors.
My family always said they weren’t sure if they came exactly from Poland. They would always mention the changing borders and now it makes a lot of sense. They’re likely from this region that is between 3 borders!
Have any of you seen more Dutka’s in this region?
Does anyone have any resources for how these areas are linked or why they would be in the same genetic cluster?
This area is between 3 countries so I am trying to decipher more or less how they are related or what ties this region together.
