True story: in 1991, when Daniel Stern was super famous for being in Home Alone, my wife and I veered off the road during a thunderstorm and popped our tire on the curb. Out of nowhere, a stranger pulled up and insisted on changing our tire in the rain while we stayed warm and dry in the car
Can we get 1 more home alone where Kevin works with the Wet Bandits to save his family from a bigger threat?
Recap of the story:
Daniel Stern was hired on a show called Partners the 90s, directed by Brett Ratner and costarring Jeremy Piven. Stern was paid a lot for the show and given producer credit.
Some women on the set told him that Ratner and Piven were harassing them and they were afraid.
Stern told some executives who told him to keep it quiet, they’d take care of it.
A meeting with producers was more of the same. They threatened Stern not to tell Les Moonves, threatening to sue him, and later accused him of telling him.
Columbia TV did sue Stern for millions for sabotaging the show. In the end, Stern had to return the money he was paid for the show.
The experience shook Stern and hurt his career.
In his memoir, he says, “Thank God for the MeToo movement. And F–k Brett Ratner, F–k Jeremy Piven F–k Les Moonves, and F–k that top-level executive at Columbia!”
The fact that Daniel Stern looks that old now makes me feel super old. 🤦🏼♂️
It blows my mind that they will sue the whistleblower for sabotage rather than the ones actually sabotaging with their shitty behaviour.
