When they had national service after ww2 loads of Welsh people emigrated to Australia… To avoid “friendly fire”.
But the Conservatives are losing, as they should and always deserve to do, so why do we listen to what they say? XD

I don’t understand why that isn’t the first question on literally any article about them, “Your party have a reputation for being untrustworthy liars. Why should we believe you this time?”

Really shoddy article by the BBC. At no point in the article do the Tories say Wales won’t lose funding, just that young people won’t ‘see it that way’ (whatever that means). Maybe he outright said it in the video interview, but a denial isn’t contained anywhere in the text.
If the essential services of the country were funded properly then ‘national service’ wouldn’t be necessary. Proper funding for the emergency services and military, as well as good wages, plus the funding for qualifications and skills needed for cyber, nursing, etc.
