I keep reading that Pentti lived without electricity. But is that right? In one video I saw him having a telehphone hanging from the wall and you sure you need electricity for that if not batteries. Even in the picture he has a lamp (red one), under there, there is cables.

  1. Old land line phones can operate without electricity if they are very basic.

  2. Onhan siellä nurkassa pöydän vasemmalla puolella melkoinen mytty johtoja jatkojohdossa, mutta oliko Penan möksä sähköverkossa, siitä en osaa sanoa.

  3. I love how you refer to him as if we know him and the comments are playing along with it.

  4. 1. Having a phone does not necessarily imply the electrification of the house.
    2. Only place I’ve seen mentioned the lack of electricity in the house is in the memoirs of Mirjami Linkola, daughter of Pentti Linkola. She has told there were no electricity in their home WHEN she was a child. The picture is taken decades later.

  5. A quick google indicates that he did live several decades without electricity, but gave in later in his life. He said that he especially liked to have electric freezers, because he did a lot of fishing.

12.11, there’s a lamp on above the table. Where did you read that he lived without electricity? Seems to be living a simple life though. No water pipes, no cell phones or car etc but he had the electricity. Easily could have lived without if wanted..
