The Western narrative on this topic is quite bizzare. How does Russia choose not to raise natural gas supplies? Has any country requested more gas from Russia that has been denied? . Russia doesn’t just pump endless gas into the pipeline, the system works through what is ordered, either at contract level or through the spot market. If Europe wants more gas, it just needs to order more gas beyond it’s current contractual levels. I don’t really know what more they want Russia to do.
>Gazprom booked only 30 million cubic meters per day on the Yamal-Europe route of 86.5 million cubic meters per day available for November, an amount comparable to that booked in September, and has not booked any volumes via Ukraine.
Yamal-Europe route goes through Belarus… not the greatest route
Well, not quite USAID-paid propaganda hack.
Russia isn’t ‘raising gas supplies’ because no EU nation is signing contracts FOR those supplies !
Russia isn’t putting more supplies out on the ‘spot market’ in Europe because it can receive a better price for those ‘spot market’ gas supplies in Asia…. so it redirects excess gas to that market.
That’s the inevitable result on relying on the ‘spot market’ for one’s gas supplies — other nations can simply ‘out-bid’ you for those scarce supplies.
Another CNBC “analysts say” article without any source provided.
Let’s face reality: A journalist wrote this, it’s an opinion piece, also it’s relying on the assumption “you cannot prove they aren’t not raising gas supplies”. You guys are too eager to hate Russians at this point: A job well done by /r/worldnews mods. CNBC is not a reliable news source I’m afraid.
You are supposed to order gas if you want to have it
Nobody will be sending you gas in advance on assumption that you might want it
