I hope the bat won’t be disturbed in the middle of its hibernation cycle. If it wakes up, it will probably die as it is too cold, there is no food available and it will be unable to return to the state of hibernation.
One bat can eat nearly 3 000 mosquitoes and other bugs in one night. That’s reason enough to love them.
I stayed at a cabin in Kuopio, and while I was trying to go to sleep I heard some scratching noises going on. I wasn’t sure what it was until I started hearing fluttering in the room. I turned on the lights and a bat was flying around. I woke up my uncle and we tried to shoo it out the door, but it ended up flying back into the hole it crawled out from. I switched to another room after that to get some sleep.
It’s a little more annoying than hearing the lone mosquito flying around when trying to go to sleep.
