Me watching all my favorite cafes and restaurants turn into money laundering establishments while the inner city is slowly withering away.
Me and my government trying to fck me over by making my cancer sticks €12.50 a package 😔
My city is not touristic enough luckily, but many places are struggling and closing, and guess what’s opening? Pizzeria, poke, sushi, kebab, burger. Fuck them, do people really need the 30292nd Asian fusion or smelly kebab seller in a 100m long road?
In big cities and beautiful places the situation is far worse
Paris was, is and will be always a tourist trap. But what makes me sad is the british. Always them.
Even writting in their language makes me sad.
harry you make me cry
The only good restaurants leftare the ones that are only used for mafia money laundering. Excellent service, and ok prices.
My best tip when visiting Italy and it’s lunch time: find some workers, preferably in the typical yellow high contrast jackets, and follow them. They’ll go to eat in a place where food is at least decent and prices aren’t a scam, rest assured.
Me returning to Praga and find it became an expensive gentrified tourist trap and ending missing even the onion stink
*cries in erbazzone with pistacchio*
Even worse is watching them becoming “japanese restaurants” (they are chinese)…in my zone they opened like four of them.
Tbh, ive had the same experience last weekend in Kraków when I was visiting my Grandparents. Nearly everything was overpriced and from 20:00 people tried to lure you inside restaurants and brothels.
Same😔 mom and pop’s restaurant where you could have a full menu (wine and dessert included) for 12€ now are smash burgers and poke places🫠
Bella vez, finally we have a flair just for ourselves!
Same for me as Portuguese.
The best pizza I ever had was while living in Napoli. I choose a place relatively close to the engineering faculty, still not that close so very out of the way of the touristic places.
Just down from my apartment and around the corner, the local pizzaiolo, a very small place with 3 or 4 tables max, and a plaque of having participated in one of the local pizza competitions and getting a high position.
He was selling mostly to the locals of this very out of the way part of Napoli.
THE BEST FUCKING PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD! No competition. Next time I visit, I’ll make sure to go out of my way to return there!
Welcome to Florence!
Me watching the beaches near my famillies village be filled with littering loud tourists every year
Dude… fucking mood, man.
Finding some genuinely good austrian restaurants or taverns is straight up impossible at this point.
The only good Schnitzel is grandma’s.
Me watching all my favorite cheap pubs (with indoor smoking) turning into non smoking fancy overpriced craft beer or wine bars 🙁

Me watching every Wirtshaus and pub close down because everyone eats at chains now.
I outlived a lot of mine and im still young so its only gonna get worse. Im especially sad about a pastry shop that sol amazing cakes by the slice, always had a lot of variety, that got taken by covid. It was cheap, it was extremely good and it was literally 30 seconds aways from my university apartment.
