‘The chief whip has said an MP’s claims that she was sacked as a minister because of her Muslim faith are “completely false”.
Nusrat Ghani, the 49-year-old MP for Wealden in East Sussex, was sacked as transport minister in a February 2020 re-shuffle.’
“I’ve checked that no recordings exist and can now confidently say these allegations are completely false.”
He outed himself. He was never named in the article, yet thinks it is somehow defamatory.
If he wasn’t named, and he is denying that these statements were made – why’s he tweeting? 🤔
What a strange story, you’ve got the most serious of allegations made by a previously senior (she was a minister) member of the party against the Chief Whip.
If it’s true then that is absolutely beyond the pale, one of the worst things one can be levelled at a political party. If it’s false, why on earth would she make the claim? Despite the demotion she was hardly a pariah in the party she enjoyed strong support from other senior Tories and sits in one of the safest Tory seats.why on earth did she not make a complaint when it first happened? If she was worried about her career before, she can kiss it goodbye right now.
I find the claim hard to believe and I find it hard to believe she would make false claim. This is a very strange one, I do wonder what on earth is going on in Tory HQ these days.
I see Fabricant and his sentient hairpiece are defendinding Spencer already.
Remember the review they were going to carry out into anti Muslim sentiment in the Tory party?
Whilst I can believe one might have those thoughts, I find it hard to belief someone would say something like that out loud so explicitly. This country is known for its veiled racism after all not for being outright racist.
Hope it isn’t true and she mistook something he said. If it is true….well then that’s is huge
Curious to see what happens here. I am struggling to believe that he outwardly said “you are too Muslim”. Not because that’s not something he would think, but because he’s a whip and surely wouldn’t be so brazen in his mistake.
It is interesting though. I’m a member of the Lib Dems and there was always a lot of chatter from other people saying Farron was “too Christian”.
