  4. Is it on merit system or asylum? How would they distinguish who to allow and who not to? What kind of visas? Aren’t temporary visas only issued to people who can prove they will return within a definite period of time? Too many questions here.

  38. I’m a British citizen, but can have a Canadian passport (as my dad had one).

    I have a Masters degree, no religious beliefs, and generally a good egg. Canada always seemed like an awesome place to be, and I’m glad I have the option to come there. I know the perils of certain types of immigration, and I can only imagine what demographics will look like in 100 years given reproduction rates of some ‘types’.

    This just makes me sad

  42. I’m horrified as a Jew right now, and it’s times like these I wish my family never came to Canada.

    It’s bad enough when the country you’ve lived in your entire life acknowledges the hate crimes being perpetrated towards you and your loved ones in recent months, and chooses not to do anything about it.

    It’s even worse when it acknowledges the discrimination you are facing, and then actively takes measures to exacerbate it.

    Suddenly, I understand why Israel exists…
