The topic of movies and dramas came up a few days ago – specifically someone was looking for recommendations or opinions on a few of the better known ones set in within ni.
The above was mentioned. It led me to wonder why "Eureka Street" remains so obscure or difficult to obtain (legal) copies of .?
It seemed a bit of an outlier contrasted against what had become an established formula for Northern Ireland based dramas or films released previously.
Focused more on the human aspects of everyday people, their complexities, quirks and idiosyncrasies framed within a backdrop of a pre / post peace process Northern Ireland..
It even had a soundtrack composed by a member of Radiohead (Ed O'Brien) yet remains largely forgotten or buried in the mists of time.
Just curious
Why have the BBC never officially released “Eureka Street”on either home media or streaming?
