Norway, Ireland and Spain say will recognise Palestinian state • FRANCE 24 English

has announced that it is to formally recognize the state of Palestine the largely symbolic decision by Ireland Spain and Norway came as a small Silver Lining to Palestinians in war Tor Gaza a step in the right direction for their decades long quest for Statehood we hope this decision will be implemented and that a Palestinian state will be established along the 1967 borders on the basis of the two-state solution as the International Community European and Arab states demand the decision was also welcomed in the occupied West Bank where many see it as overdue the decision came 76 years late but it is still a positive step and we thank Ireland Spain and Norway this is one of the first steps Europe has taken to free itself of its Colonial Legacy it’s a positive and Progressive step in Israel though the news came as a blow I feel that the timing during war and after October 7th to recognize a Palestinian State now shows whose side these countries are on to see that the world is taking hamas’s side and saying I will give you a state as a reward is painful and I wish things could be seen differently other Western governments say they’re willing to one day recognize Palestinian statehood on the basis of a two-state solution but not before issues such as the borders the status of Jerusalem and the right of Return of displaced Palestinians are settled issues which have become sticking points for many Israelis as soon as we move forward in negotiations with the Palestinians they raised the demand for the right of return and Israel is of course not ready to commit suicide because as soon as we recognize the right of return that will be the end of the state of Israel Israel looks more isolated than ever 7 months into its war in Gaza and just days after the international criminal court said it would seek arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and his defense min for war crimes

Norway, Ireland and Spain said Wednesday they would recognize a Palestinian state, a historic but largely symbolic move that further deepens Israel’s isolation more than seven months into its grinding war against Hamas in Gaza. Israel denounced the decisions and recalled its ambassadors to the three countries. Palestinian officials welcomed the announcements as an affirmation of their decades-long quest for statehood in east Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip — territories Israel seized in the 1967 Mideast war and still controls.

  1. Good to see Ireland, Spain and Norway joining the civilised world.
The legal borders were set in UN Resolution 181, the 1967 borders were non-binding and it is a basic concept of the UN that territory can not be taken forcefully.
    Time Israel followed international law.

  2. Ireland is recognizing the 1967 UN mandated border, which Israelis will refuse, although they accepted it in '67 (it's now too long a border, with Hamas murderers running things on the other side, and they will NEVER reward Hamas for Oct 7). Palestinians obviously also refuse the 67 border, because they want all of Israel.

So Ireland is recognizing something which doesn't exist, and neither side wants to exist.

Now they can go to the pub and feel good about themselves.

  3. As if they care about the "Palestinians".

This decision will cause the suffering of hundreds of thousands of "Palestinians".

what's more, because of this decision Israel now has the legitimacy to declare Gaza as Jewish sovereignty as well as Judea and Samaria as it always should have.

thank you Ireland, Norway, and Spain.

In the long run, you really helped Israel.

  4. 3 countries that care more about what's right than increasing their bank balance as the other western countries are doing from having control over the gas fields offshore in gasa. Well done to you all for behaving as brave humans and not greedy, warmongering ones.

  5. 1967 borders with Jerusalem and Bethlehem region being a self-governing city state similar to the ones we have in Europe.

  6. That is the only way to make peace, when both sides have allies. And neither you nor your allies want to upset them.

  7. You're very welcome to be the footstools of the daughter of Zion…😂😂😂 143 nations have signed up plus icc and icj as bonus…who else?
