Do these have a specific meaning? I'm not originally from Europe so I don't know what these mean. Is it because there is a bump in the road?

  1. Yes, those are standard markings to indicate a speedbump.
    These are not pedestrian crossings and as such pedestrians don’t have right of way on these. Cars need to slow down to 30km/h to pass over these.

  2. I’ve seen people using it as a zebra crosswalk…..
    And they were convinced it was really a crosswalk…

  3. Usualy they are used in topography and maping to show off inclined parts and slopes. Continuous line delimits the top plateau and the perpendicular lines show the slope pointing towards the lower part

  4. This is the start of a verkeersplateau. It’s indicated by a sign, and the maximum speed when crossing one, is 30km/h. It’s a popular question on the theoretical exam.
