  1. How much does Stan Kenton (the Peanut Vendor song)’s yacht pollute ? It cost him a half million dollars. Probably enough to kill 10,000 fish in one flight to Italy. I study global warming on the news channels on Reddit and it says nothing about how much trouble yachts pollute. When actually moving or just stationary, one single engine malfunction leaks a ton of oil and gas and other fluids into the ocean. The carbon footprint of a yacht is seen (among the wealthy) as the worst possible asset regarding the environment. Why is it that they can’t RENT a cruise ship and then all the billionaires and millionaires enjoy the sea view together ? Small oil spillages add up to significantly harmful amounts, which can lead to marine pollution. To prevent oil and gas pollution, cleaning up any oil spillages on board before they leak down into the sea is important.

Yachts and shipping vessels are among the largest contributors to carbon dioxide emissions in the air.

These emissions are often overlooked and ignored because they are released at sea. However, they are highly detrimental to marine life and people living near the sea. The fate of coral reefs is in a horrible state as of 2024. Every report says they are dying fast. Meanwhile Stan Kenton’s yacht marches on. The future republic will ask how could you be so bold ? The rich are only doing what they were told. A vacation at sea in 2024 has more to offer than the most deluxe hotel, if you’ve seen the biggest and most extravagant vessels. Yachts can reduce carbon emissions by leveraging the latest technology, such as emission-free yachting, and travelling at reduced speeds to burn fuel less aggressively. However we will all be in the year 2050 before emission-free yachts are the standard. By then the coral reefs and who knows how many marine life species will be in their graves.

The oil industry regards the mega-vacation cruise ships and yachts as their prize sow at the county fair. They instruct men to steer the vessels at top speed, which burns fuel recklessly. Alt-energy is rare aboard them. Most cleaning solutions and[ chemicals](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0025326X16304957) used to keep yachts in pristine condition pollute the water.

Detergents often include solvents, strong acids, and oil spill dispersers, while hull paints contain toxic metals poisonous to marine life. A cruise ship not in pristine condition is unheard of. Excessive noise in the ocean caused by human activities is not only a disturbance to the peace and quiet of marine life but can also cause harm to their health and behavior. While this eco-system is challenged with a blunt instrument to the head, the Atlantic Gulf Stream is weakening and the Caribbean gets dirty and sticky. Noise pollution interferes with the communication between marine animals and impacts how they mate, search for food, and stay safe from predators. Of course, this sort of human interference has always been at a minimum until approximately 1970.

According to a report by[ EcoWatch](https://www.ecowatch.com/), an environmental platform, analyzed the carbon footprint of 20 billionaires and concluded that owning a superyacht was the worst asset to have from an environmental perspective. The only solution is to tax them to the point where wealthy men grimace and shudder. Workers involved with the clean-up efforts earn a pittance. Featuring a pretty view and transportation from point A to B, customers say that would be the only difference from a deluxe hotel-resort on land. ~Mortimer Reed
