Damn, so much for those hoping they just did it to quash primary challenges and were going to swap him at the convention.
We should just have a single-day national ranked choice election for primaries anyway. Enough of this stuff of having it staggered out and then fighting about who goes first and when it happens.
It’s virtually the same thing.
This is what I suggested a week ago. Glad someone is listening to my advice. 🥹
They’ll find some other bit of fuckery to try to disqualify him.
I really don’t the will do anything to get Biden on Ohio and other states using this as an excuse to block him
Good
They’re completely within their rights to do this too since the DNC is a private organization. Ohio Republicans have been trying to sneak in ways to weaken the opposition in exchange for extending the deadline, so this is the next best thing.
I cant wait until magats start screaming about how this is Biden being installed. Combined with Genocide Joe, they’ll continue to insist that Biden is the Nazi. Nevermind the Nazis pointing their fingers at Biden and the media listening because money.
This whole deadline thing is so stupid. We already know it’s Biden v. Trump the formal nominations should be just ceremonial.
We can probably now expect the GOP to sue saying that it’s not fair to do it virtually or some other bullshit sabotage.
When it threatened to remove Republican candidates from the ballot in 2012 and 2020, the cons in the Ohio statehouse passed a resolution allowing them to be on the ballot anyway. This time only the Democratic Party’s convention is after the cutoff so they didn’t do shit.
100% the Republicans in Ohio won’t accept it based on some bullshit technicality they make up on the spot.
I get the feeling they want to keep Biden off the ballot in Ohio. That’s a key state on the path to win and while it’s unlikely he wins the state, his chances drop to near zero if it’s not there at all, to say nothing of downticket impacts.
Edit; downfalls>downticket
That’s not a dumb idea.
Hopefully next time (assuming we still have elections in the future) the DNC won’t make assumptions based on the GOP operating in good faith.
The Ohio SOS – having been foiled again by those meddling kids and their rotten dog – is quickly at work trying to hatch an alternative scheme.

Ohio GOP will say this doesn’t count for reasons.
Breaking Points called this two weeks ago, that the DNC was gonna run from Voters, when the Chicago Mayor said he wasnt gonna stop protestors from protesting outside the DNC convention.
Thank. Fucking. God. I thought I was going to have a stroke when the initial reaction to this issue from the Biden administration seemed to bank on republicans in Ohio doing the sporting thing.
he just doesnt want to be protested for his Gaza position
Given the GOP ways lately, this is the right move. Take it out of their hands. Eff you GOP. Eff you.
Next up: Ohio bans virtual nominations.
Even GOP run ass backwards Alabama changed the law to get Biden on the ballot. He doesn’t have a chance here but at least we get to have that choice. Ohio republicans must not have any confidence in Trump winning.
Good. Fuck the Ohio GOP. They’re trying to use this to leverage concessions from the Dems in the Ohio General Assembly.
They’re terrified that the anti gerrymandering bill is going to pass in November and take their super majority away.
Cue the pearl clutching outrage from the other side. “How dare they do things virtually, that’s where the porn is. The virtually is a bad, bad place”
Not going to lie, I thought the virtual roll call they did of all the states and they announced who their delegates were for was interesting and more compelling than just having a guy stand up on stage and make the announcement.
This entire thing is so stupid even DeWine isn’t having it. States that have their deadlines before the conventions have literally never cared before this.
The GOP lawmakers in Ohio are being pedantic children.
Genocide or trump … ya’ll can have that voting green so I can live with my self. Wtf one side is aiding and abetting a whole genocide and the dems are totally okay with it .
So skirting the law?
Breaking News: The DNC does whatever they want all the time so why would this time be any different.
IMO Bernie got robbed in two different primaries…
