That’s a shame, I was looking forward to Plaid actually moving in the polls. Back to the status quo it is I guess.
The chances of this ever succeeding were always pretty low as Votes of No Confidence almost always fall down party lines, and Labour has 30 MS’. But now there’s a general election going on, this is even less likely.
But it’s still telling that the Tories have managed to get the vote though. I’m also interested to see what Plaid do here because it comes with it’s own political risks.
No way this is passing with the election campaign on. With two weeks of sleeping on it I would not be surprised if every labour ms shows up and holds their nose.
Yes support for Gething is limited to about 8 Labour MS at the moment. But the rest will never exhibit independent thought in the Senedd. 25 years in we all know this.
Vaughan could shoot a man on Queen Street and still win a vote in the Senedd. That’s where Welsh democracy is.
will be interesting to see what party HQ do about this. Agree with all the sentiments about Labour MS ‘holding their noses’ but this is noise and distraction that Starmer certainly won’t want muddying the waters during a GE campaign, even if the vote succeeds there’s a chance Labour (UK) may ask him to resign.
Wales needs rid of this Charlatan as soon as possible. Unfortunately politics in Wales is mired by the entrenched stasis of Welsh voters.
Low ability, over promoted councillors or academics of all political persuasions are the result………and we are being treated to even greater numbers of them.
