16. Saruman and Sauron didn’t create the Orcish peoples

    Morgoth, the original dark lord and Sauron’s previous master, created the orcs in the First age.

    The Second Age had Sauron taking Morgoth’s place and leading an army to be defeated by the Last Alliance of Elves and men. Sauron somewhat survives his death this through rings of power he created and gave that spread his corruption.

    The Third Age is when the books and movies take place. The armies of Sauron have returned and the Fellowship needs to destroy Sauron’s ring of power. Saruman creates an army of hybrid orcs and humans and forms an alliance with Sauron but unlike the others, he isn’t fully corrupted by Sauron, he is more interested in his own power.
