Those are local new harvest potatoes which have been probably grown in a greenhouse during the winter. Getting the first new harvest potatoes of the year is a big thing, comparable to PIGS getting a new pope or something like that. The difference of course is that the new harvest potatoes are delicious to eat whereas the pope is sucking you dry by fooling you to pay indulgences.
But I have to admit that there’s no way in hell I’m paying that price for any potatoes.
