  1. They do that and they will be used as the example for isolation, NK but on steroids with zero loopholes or exceptions. There needs to be a no nonsense strong response to them if they do.

  2. So I guess all those recent threats mean Moscow isn’t doing great on the Kharkiv front?!

  3. What would that “demonstrate” that everyone doesn’t already know?

  4. They act as though they’re the only nation with nuclear weapons.

They seem to forget that NATO is also a nuclear alliance.

  5. We know Russia would just keep using the threat of nukes to take territory.

There’s not even room for debate there. Anyone defending Russia at this point is an idiot, troll, or bot.

  6. > “To confirm the seriousness of Russia’s intentions and to convince our opponents of Moscow’s readiness to escalate, it is worth considering a demonstrative (i.e. non-combat) nuclear explosion,” Suslov wrote in business magazine Profil.

    >”The political and psychological effect of a nuclear mushroom cloud, which will be shown live on all TV channels around the world, will hopefully remind Western politicians of the one thing that has prevented wars between the great powers since 1945 and that they have now largely lost – fear of nuclear war.”

This shit is really some next-level gaslighting. When you’re the one *threatening* nuclear war, you do not get to suggest that it’s the other party that has lost their fear of it. For fucks sake, these mouthpieces really need less air time. The US has nutbags too who suggest we should nuke everyone from NK to China to Gaza, and not just your crazy uncle. We mostly ignore them. Need to do the same here.

If it’s not coming *from* the Kremlin, it’s best not taken too seriously.

  7. They’re really afraid Biden is going to green light the use of American weapons for targets within Russia.

Personally I think we should give Ukraine even longer range shit and tell them to have at it, fuck Russia.

  8. Is it like when he ordered the strategic nuclear forces to be put on high alert, which are already on alert all the time because it is a nuclear shield? (it was on 3d day of fullscale invasion)

  9. To be honest I thought that might happen early on when doubts got raised about them having any working nukes.

  10. Just so everyone knows, we are in a cold war. Let’s just say that out loud.

  11. Xi has warned Putin a nuclear attack is unacceptable. I don’t think he’s stupid enough to lose his most powerful ally

  12. Yeah isolate yourself not just from the west but from China as well. That way just about your only friend would be North Korea and very maybe Iran.

  13. Sounds like a pretty good idea. I mean Russia has been on a roll with good ideas lately. 3 day wars, weakening NATO, 500k wounded and or injured, half their financial reserves frozen, an economy reliant on a war that falls apart if they win or lose, etc.

It’s like they have the hand of Midas but everything turns to shit. Drop a nuke and give China a reason to feast on the Russian carcass. China needs an enemy not a “US” enemy. Go ahead and make yourself the easier target.

  14. If Putin went outside of just testing, Mother Russia would cease to exist.
And most of the world wouldn’t be habitable.

    Is this what Russians want?
    Rise up!

  15. Think tank close to Washington says NATO should consider a ‘demonstrative’ destruction of Russian military assets in Crimea, the Black Sea, and near the Ukrainian border following any nuclear explosion …

  16. The war must be going well if u have to use nuclear threats 🤣

  17. articles like this are working in the kremlin’s favor.
it’s their nuclear sabre rattling to try to scare member countries oppose western weapons hitting russian targets inside russia

fuck putin, give em some more toys

  18. Demonstrate it on the goblin czar’s black sea winter palace.

  19. Russia: “I’M GONNA DO IT EUROPE!! DON’T MESS WITH ME!! LAST WARNING!!!!!”

Europe: “Ok…” *turns around and starts talking about internal affairs*

Russia: “I SAID I’LL DO IT, WHAT PART DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND!!!!!!!!”

    –THE END–

  20. Another day, another nuclear buff 🙄 Russia must be getting desperate.

  21. It’s the ultimate “saber rattling”. A nuclear demonstration would a shocking spectacle meant to chill anyone who might be starting to doubt their level of insanity. It doesn’t have to be over Ukraine.

  22. To demonstrate what exactly? That nobody in the world can consider themselves safe as long as this insane government exists?

Everything Russia says about nukes in relation to this war is total bluster. It’s the one way Putin could guarantee even our feeble and weak-willed governments would have no choice but to seek his overthrowing.

  23. That “think tank” must have lost its brain somewhere along the way.

  24. Thinking and tanking are two things russia is amazingly bad at.

  25. Uh, we already know what a nuke looks like. The 1950s called, and they want their foreign policy back.

How is this organization a “think tank”? Is Russia just populated by absolute dumbshits from top to bottom? No *sane* person would ever suggest that any nuclear country should consider setting off an atomic weapon—which is fucking *illegal* these days, by international treaty—because, at best, it would make said country look like an enemy of the world determined to drive all of us to the brink of nuclear war. It is not a *sane* suggestion in 2023.

Finally, it serves no purpose; it’s all risk and no reward. We all know what a nuclear weapon can do. No one is going to say, “Oh, well if that’s what happens, I’m scared now.” It won’t change a god damned thing other than making Russia look even more insane, guaranteeing additional, harsher sanctions, and making it very uncomfortable for China to continue their wink-and-nod support of Russia.

Russia isn’t even worthy of being a country anymore.

  26. This is exactly why Ukraine has been targeting Russia’s over-the-horizon early warning radar arrays. It’s a further disincentive for Putin to use a nuclear weapon in Ukraine if he can’t be sure he can defend himself from a US/NATO response.

The more stations Ukrainian drones take out, the lower the probability they get nuked.

  27. 99.99% of people just want to be left alone to live their lives. One day, one idiot is going to kill us all.

  28. Most of the world agrees – let’s try it in Moscow.
