Omagh: This photograph was taken seconds before the red car explodes, killing everyone including the photographer. Miraculously, the man wearing yellow and the kid survive. (Repost, autocorrect changed to Omaha and couldn’t edit 😅)

  1. This is a copy pasta;

    For anyone who doesnt understand why the guy and child lived:

    What most likely was the case-

    The detonation was a “directional force”. This basically just means the explosion was like a “3D + shape” like a Jack. Because of weak points in the car, the pressure wants to take the path of least resistance. The shockwaves are the most deadliest part. Shockwaves can do all kinds of absolutely nasty things to humans. Now, depending on where you’re at, its a huge difference but the man and kid were standing at a direction where they didnt get direct blast. Now if they were in the path of least resistance?… probably in a few pieces, and on a roof top.

    Edit: forgot to specify that they supposedly moved further away from the car bomb after this photo was taken.

  2. The tailend of a conflict that really exploded 50 years ago today. Many people I see comment here dismissing it as in the past don’t appreciate how tangible it still is, especially with the uk government still protecting it’s murderers.
