I’m not local and was visiting for a long weekend, bought a stack of books at the Oxfam Book Shop, this just fell into my lap while I was reading it. I know it’s never gonna happen, but if by some miracle they’re recognised I’d happily post the photo back to them.

Probably their mother or grandmother who used a picture of her kids/ grandkids as a bookmark.
The picture itself looks like a professionally taken portrait style picture – taken at some point in either the 1990s or very early 2000s though.
If there’s a photography studio stamp or hand written annotation on the back that could help you identify and return the picture .
Failing that, return it to the branch of Oxfam you bought the book in when you’re next passing along with information pertaining to the particular book title you found the picture in (on the off chance they catalogue individual lots of items donated alongside names/addresses of those who donated them).
I swear the young fella looks familiar, but I’m damned if I can place him. I want to say I’ve seen this somewhere before. How curious.
