I wash trying to show an idiot, that thought female backpackers should travel alone to Pakistan, that they shouldn’t. While researching, I’m seeing Greece is ranked pretty bad in modern incidences of slavery? Is this an issue in Greece?

Seems very bizarre, but apparently, it has to do with the refugees and illegal immigrants arriving in Greece, who are apparently being exploited and/or smuggled/trafficked by other illegal foreigners, including in the migrant camps.

Remember, Greece is an entry point into the EU for migrants from West & South Asia (and increasingly Africa), so it looks like it’s related to them and the traffickers.

On second look, it also seems to be a flawed ranking. It seems to be the combination of: illegal immigrants that came circa 2015-2018 and couldn’t move on to the rest of EU -nor can Greece deport them, so they’re stuck here- *plus* the fact that Greece is one of the easier countries for researchers to gain access to and get around in and collect data, something that would be harder to do in many developing, authoritarian, conservative, or closed countries. Saudi Arabia and the UAE being very low is very dubious. So, it’s flawed study/ranking.

Both of the above mainly (but not solely) happen to immigrants.
You can tell its fake by the fact that Turkey is orange and Greece is red.
In many regions in Eastern Turkey kurds are treated worse than slaves
Greece is among the countries with the lowest crime rates in the entire Europe especially against females.
