I’m torn, nice or not?

  1. It looks like the kind of thing that feels like a great idea to make after a night out but not something I’d want to purchase in the cold light of day.

  2. O’brien’s is pretty expensive for how easy they go on their toppings.

  3. Not sure theres another fast food chain out there that has such a mismatch between their promotional photos and what their food actually looks like.

  4. I remember being on a business trip to Kuala Lumpur, taking the wrong exit out of a train station and being confronted by an O’Brien’s. Kept seeing them everywhere for the couple of weeks I was there. It was pretty impressive and unexpected.

  5. It’s a fancy ham and cheese crisp toastie, of course it’s nice!

Have you never had a sambo and thrown a few crisps in? Salt & Vinegar goes well with sambos that have cheese in them, ideally a vintage cheddar but any deli cheese is good too really.

  6. I think O’Brien doesn’t know its core audience.

  7. You’d be better off making it yourself, I’d put more cheese on it.

  8. you could make ten of them at home easy enough for about a fiver.

  9. O’Briens is the Harp lager of sandwich shops. You see it around but no one you know goes there. You finally give in out of lack of other choices and it tastes like flaccid bread and disappointment.

  10. You should try it, by the way where do you get it I wouldn’t mind trying it myself.

  11. i enjoyed the tayto/cadbury dairy milk collab so this is an easy yes from me.

  12. Definitely nice.

O’Brien’s have handily given you the full list of ingredients for it too so just make it yourself for a fraction of the cost.

  13. I don’t do O’Briens. Far too expensive and very stingy with their fillings.

  14. Signature epic sauce? Some flavoured mayonnaise at a guess?

  15. A ham and cheese sandwich with Taytos: I’ve been eating these almost since birth.

  16. Would be interested in the signature sauce to see how epic it truly is

  17. I tried it once. I did not particularly care for the sauce. Everything else was okay. 7/10

  18. It looks like one sandwich that’s been cut into quarters and stacked. So you’re getting 2 slices of bread, a slice of ham, a slice of cheese and a packet of tayto for 10 quid

  19. A hang and cheese toastie with crisps in it, can’t really go wrong. Given that it’s O’Brien’s it probably costs €20.

  20. I have made a version of this . Ham and cheese toastie with Heinz sandwich spread and crisps lovely.

  21. I had it, the ham wasn’t my favourite but overall enjoyable

  22. They used to make absolutely savage triple deckers. That was many moons ago before their quality/portion sizing went down and their prices went up. As tempted as I am to try this I guarantee it looks nothing like the picture in real life…and I don’t think the picture even looks that good (bread/toast looks dry as fup…)

  23. Buy the tayto and the rest of the epic ingredients and go home and disappoint yourself 10 times for the price of one in o briens.

  24. Never found Monterey Jack cheese here. Where do you get jt?

  25. Heating crisps will make them soggy. So it’s a no from me.

  26. Hawksmoor on Dame St are also doing a version of this as collaboration and scallion mayo served with a loaded bag of crisps. I haven’t had it, I see it, I think it looks nice but then I think I’m sure I could just make it myself so never bothered to go out of my way to try it. For an unreal sandwich with crisps I went to dough boys on Camden St and got the california chicken with buffalo hunky dory 👌

  27. I tried making this before in one of those press down triangly sandwhich things.

I remember the crisps got a bit soft so it wasnt proper crunchy.
