I noticed some mold formed on bathroom, initially I would like to get rid of it before identifying the source. Any idea what detergjent or stuff I can get to remove it? Any specific place shop I can buy?

Thank you

  1. Vinegar is pretty good on mold, but it won’t do miracles.

You might have to pull out that whole cabinet.

  2. “some mold”

You get rid of it by throwing that cheap cabinet away and getting new.

  3. Easier and more reliable solution is to remove the wood rather than trying to remove the mold

  4. You can only clean on the surface. It will come back, You have to get rip of all the cabinet. Check your house insurance. It may cover the material cost.

Hope this isn’t your house because in Finland, water damage and moisture problem are a curse to the house.

  5. Hydrogen peroxide or some for purpose clesning agent there are all sorts.

  6. There is some serious moisture damage in the cabinet. The shelf is all bulged up, it has been soaked for some time. Did you have a leak which was not properly addressed?

I wouldn’t really bother removing the mold before addressing how much of the cabinet and possibly the wall behind it need to be replaced.

  7. That wood has sucked in a lot of moisture, I would honestly be replacing it very shortly, when I had everything out I would be looking very hard at the walls etc for any further damage, that mold is pretty nasty

  8. Until you deal with the source, I’d just vinegar and maybe get a dehumidifier, try to keep humidity under 60%.

I’ve heard bleach or alike is the worst as while it kills the surface mold it actually allows it to come back quicker.

  9. If you are renting this, contact owner. Using something the internet says works can create an even bigger mess.

    Has water leak been fixed?

  10. There is no wood, this is cheap chip board. Remove and replace – and repair the leak…

  11. Seriously, how is this only getting to the stage of taking action now? Rip it out. Incinerate it. Send the ashes to Pluto.

  12. Remove the cabinet and you have to find the leak 😳

  13. Only actually working and permanent way to get rid of mold is to fix the leakage that causes it and replace everything that has mold in it.
It has already permeated through the chipboard and it will grow back if you remove it from the surface. It will also most likely spread, definitely as long as gets wet from something.

  14. Annihilate your bathroom cabinets. It’s the only solution.

And find out the source where water comes. It’s not normal for the back wall to be wet. The shelf is understandable if water leaks from front.

    You have a serious problem.
