I don’t understand what you’re shocked about…
I guess they want to have a quick chat with you, just to see what’s up. But the corporate speech is kind of funny indeed.
I mean, thirty minutes is probably a bit much for a dish washer job. Nonetheless a job interview is standard procedure for everything anywhere and getting to know the person at least a bit is just a normal thing people want to do.
Are you surprised that you have received this email or by how it’s worded?
If it’s the latter, I agree that it sounds very formal and serious for this kind of job (especially the part about convincing them of your potential, like, come on, it’s washing dishes), but other than that, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. Obviously they’re going to want to get a personal impression of whoever is going to work for them. Even if it’s “just” washing dishes, it can still have a really negative impact on the workplace if someone is incompatible on a social level.
